DIY hot chocolate on a stick
For chocoholics, here are recipes and ideas for delicious hot chocolates on a stick, which will melt when placed in a cup of hot milk:
Hot Chocolate on a Stick with Caramel

These hot chocolates on a stick taste simply amazing! The caramel is reminiscent of the irresistible taste of Werthers and goes perfectly together with the chocolate.
RECIPE
Ingredients for hot chocolate on a stick (10 pieces):
- 100g milk chocolate cake covering
- 100g dark chocolate cake covering
- 100g white chocolate cake covering
Ingredients for the caramel:
- 90g sugar
- 25g water
- 40g cream
- 20g butter
- A pinch of salt
For the decoration:
You also need:
- 10 plastic shot glasses
- 10 cocktail sticks, wooden sticks, cake-pop sticks or wooden spoons
- Little bags for filling or a piping bag

You can also get the necessary ingredients from your local supermarket.
Preparation:
- Melt the first cake covering in hot water
- In each of the 10 glasses, pour in the first layer, filling about a quarter of the glass – use a small spoon, or a piping bag to make it easier and cleaner

- Put the glasses to the side to cool down
- Melt the second cake covering in hot water
- Pour in the second chocolate layer until the glasses are half full
- Place the wooden sticks into the middle of each glass

- Allow to cool again
- Melt the third cake covering in hot water
- Pour it into the glasses, leaving enough space for the caramel

- Allow the glasses to cool again
- Prepare the caramel (instructions below)
Preparation of the caramel:
- Warm up the cream and butter until melted – do not boil!
- Boil the sugar and water until they become amber in colour
- Add in the cream, butter and pinch of salt
- Allow the mix to simmer, until it becomes thick and gooey
- Quickly divide it up into the glasses, before the caramel goes hard

Finally, decorate the chocolate cups however you like. For best results, do this while the top layer is still a little sticky.

The hot chocolate cups should be stored in a cool place, or gifted immediately.
